Now there are choices in pillow selection. The new interest in making lace scarves has required a wider pattern area. So along with the standard size pillows I expanded the size of the center blocks. The blocks on each side are still 5-1/2" square. But the center blocks are longer. There is a choice of 8-1/4" or 11" wide. Spare blocks are available but it also works with the standard block and/or half block. So if you already own a standard size you can move the blocks between them. The kit has everything except the covering material. Available in hardboard base with plastic edge or plywood base with wood edges. This is the standard pillow using nine blocks but with a wooden base, wooden sides and rounded corners. Traditionally this pillow has the four rounded corners secured to the base after being covered with your material.. But I am now finding that most people prefer to not secure them and use the corners as supplimental blocks. So the unit is normally shipped without the rounded corners on all of the squares. As the material is easily cut with a serrated knife, you can decide later to make the corners if you wish. Or specify rounded corners when ordering and they will be supplied as such. Interier size is 16-1/2" x 16-1/2". Outer wood edge varies with availability. Wood choices are Maple, Walnut, Oak or Cherry. |

This is the original pillow using eight square blocks and two 1/2 blocks of Ethafoam© measuring 5-1/2" square. It has a hardboard base with plastic edges secured to it to contain the blocks. Interior size is 16-1/2" x 16-1/2".
